Office Format Painter Occasionally I find a new feature in a program I've used for years that is truly useful. I recently discovered the "Format Painter" in Word, PowerPoint, FrontPage, and other Office applications. This is a toolbar button that appears on the Standard toolbar. It looks like a paint-brush... This tool lets you "paint" one
type of text formatting onto another area of text in your
document. For example if you've created a paragraph heading that
is Purple Comic Sans 16 point type, you can "paint" this
formatting onto all the other paragraph headings. Note: single-clicking the paint-brush allows you to apply formatting one time, and then turns off the tool

Beware Email "Phishing" If your receive suspicious email from an online banking or payment site, be extremely wary of clicking on links in the email, especially if it's asking you to "verify your account information." These emails are usually scams attempting to get your usernames and passwords or other account information. They copy authentic looking logos and images from the real banking site to try to give credibility to their email messages. If you have any question about the authenticity of the email, it's much safer to log into your online accounts by going to the website that you've typed yourself into a browser, than by clicking on links in an email. |

| Delay the
Sending of Your Message If you've composed a message in Outlook email, but want to delay sending it until a specified time, click the "Options" button on your email message, then check the box and choose your time in the area for "Do not deliver before..." Note: Outlook must be open at the time you want the message to be sent, or sometime thereafter. Outlook saves this message in your Out box until the specified time. If you close Outlook, the message will not be sent until you reopen Outlook.

| Google Maps Google has announced a new map resource - Google Maps http://maps.google.com/. It is easier to navigate, allowing you to drag the map with your mouse or navigate by clicking on the arrows or zoom control, as opposed to other mapping sites like: MapQuest http://www.mapquest.com/, MapBlast http://www.mapblast.com/ and Yahoo! Maps http://maps.yahoo.com/. More Google tools can be found on their technology playground http://labs.google.com/ where they have project prototypes that are not quite ready for prime time.
