Instant-Messaging Policy

We have attempted to clarify our instant-messaging policy for students. It is posted on the web site under “Technology à Internet Safety”

New USB Drives

We recently purchased 20 USB keychain drives. This is a small device intended to replace the use of floppy disks, so that kids can carry files back and forth from home to school. These USB drives hold 16 times the amount of a floppy disk, so big files like PowerPoints should fit on them. If you or a student would like to use one, they may be signed out in the MMC.

 

 

Making Banners & Signs with Microsoft Publisher

Microsoft Publisher is installed in the two computer labs, and on some of the newer computers and laptops. It is a program that lets you make banners and signs. If you’ve ever tried to make a multi-page banner in Microsoft Word, you know that it is difficult. Use Publisher instead! To make a banner, choose “Banners” from the list of publication types on the left, then choose one of the templates (from examples on right), and then insert the words that you want.

 

Using Inspiration Across the Curriculum

Transferring a Phone Call to another Extension

·         Put call on hold

·         Dial the “Phone” or “Voicemail” extension number that you want to transfer call to

·         Announce call (optional)

·         Hang up
