Rubric for evaluating computer presentations

You might consider giving your students a copy of this computer project assessment rubric à click here, especially if you’re having them create a presentation, web site, or other multi-media project on the computer. It gives them concrete guidelines for successful presentations.

Help and Website

Some Norwood email addresses you should be aware of:

Ø       help@norwoodschool.org – goes to the technology office… this is the place to send all your requests for tech help

Ø       website@norwoodschool.org – when you have news or photos to be posted on the home page as “News & Events.”

And remember, you don’t have to type the whole email address, just the word help or the word website in the “To” field.

Volume control

In addition to the physical dial to control sound volume on many computers, you can have a volume control in the “system tray”. Sometimes people “mute” this volume control, which turns off all sound. To open up the control, just click on it in the system tray.

GetSmarter.org

At this site students can take interactive quizzes in math or science subjects at grade levels of  3rd, 4th, 7th, 8th that show them how they compare to students who have done this worldwide.  The quizzes and the content are very well presented, and correlate to national standards. (thanks to Amy Kaslow for recommending this site)
