Tech-Tip 14

Did you know you can drag items from our Master calendar onto your own personal calendar? This is the calendar that Kathy puts all of our events onto. You can drag from other calendars also. I found this to be very useful, because I could drag those specific items that I needed to keep track of onto my own calendar.

To do this:

1.       open Microsoft Outlook program (not through the web site)

2.       open the Norwood Master calendar by clicking on the little plus (+) signs—it is under “All Public Folders à Norwood Calendars à Master”

3.       open the week view (or any view really), I just find it easiest to read in week view.

4.       drag (click & hold down the mouse) an item from the Master calendar onto the little icon for your calendar in the folder list
(or onto the icon for your calendar in the shortcut bar, which is the bar down the left)

5.       Voila! it automatically goes to the correct date & time on your calendar!

In the picture below, the arrows are pointing at my calendar icons that I am dragging onto (you can drag onto either place). The Master calendar is on the right.

You can also drag emails, tasks, or notes, onto your calendar!
