  1. Don't give your e-mail address, picture, name, home address or telephone number to strangers.

2. Tell your parent or guardian right away if you come across any information that makes you feel uncomfortable.

3. Do not enter online contests, sweepstakes, or give-aways. Usually these are just gimmicks to try to get your email address, so that they can send you spam.

4. Do not give out your passwords to anyone (even best friends), other than your parents.

5. Do not go to any chat rooms or websites not approved of by your parents/guardians.

6. Sometimes people pretend to be someone or something different than who they really are. Do not assume that just because someone tells you something about themself that it is true.

7. Never agree to meet someone in the real world who you only know online. If someone ever tries to get you to meet them, tell your parents right away.

8. Be a good "online citizen" and never do anything that hurts other people or is against the law.
