How do I turn the projector on and off?
All of the mounted projectors have remote controls. Ask the homeroom teacher where he or she stores the remote. Generally speaking, the on-off button is on the top left of the remote. It helps to be standing in front of the projector and point the remote up at the projector when you press the button. It takes about a minute for the bulb to warm up. You won't see anything at first, but after a few seconds if you look in the lens you will see that the light has come on. To turn off the projector point the remote at it and press the button, on the screen it should ask you to confirm your choice by pressing the same button again.
Which computer is connected to the projector?
Usually it is the classroom desktop computer which is connected to the projector. This computer is usually positioned at the front of the room. Some of the rooms are equipped with a wireless keyboard connected to this same computer.
How do I use the VCR or DVD with the projector?
Insert your video into the VCR or DVD player, and start it playing. On the projector remote, press the button labeled ‘video’ or ‘input’ to switch between the various input sources (computer, VCR, DVD). Sometimes you have to have both the VCR and DVD power turned on even if you're only using one of them. Some classrooms have switch boxes to switch between various video sources. Ask the homeroom teacher for specific info.
How do I adjust the volume?
Some of the projector remotes have volume on them, for others you have to go into the menu to adjust to the volume. Some classrooms have separate speakers. Ask the homeroom teacher for specific instructions to adjust the volume for that classroom.
How do I use the document camera?
The document cameras (also called Flex-Arm cameras) are another video source connected to the projector. The camera’s on-off button is located either on its top or in the back where its cable comes out. When the power is on there is a small green light on the front of the camera lens that should be on. On the projector remote press the button labeled ‘video’ or ‘input’ to switch between the various input sources.
Can I use one of the projectors on the cart?
Yes, the carts are stored in the MMC and are available for your use. The carts are equipped with a projector, laptop, VCR, and DVD player. The projector’s power button is labeled. The projectors tilt up & down with the tilt button. The input button selects the various input sources (computer, VCR, DVD). For specific help for the Sony projectors on the carts click here.
What if I need to connect cables to the projector?
Normally, all the cables are already connected. Please see the picture of the wall-plate for more info.
