Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF Software Plug-In

"Adobe PDF is a universal file format that preserves all of the fonts, formatting, colors, and graphics of any source document, regardless of the application and platform used to create it. PDF files are compact and can be shared, viewed, navigated, and printed exactly as intended by anyone with a free Adobe Acrobat Reader." (From Adobe's website)

When you click on a link to a PDF file, if the computer asks you if you would like to "Open from current location" or "Save the file to disk," you can choose to open it from it's current location.

The software to allow you to view these PDF files is called Acrobat Reader. If you do not have this already installed, it is freely available at the Adobe.com web site. There is a link for this below. After downloading this installer program, you will need to run it, in order to install the software.

How to Save a PDF File
Acrobat PDF Window Example

When you are viewing a PDF file in your web browser, the File menu does not let you "Save" the file. However, there is another toolbar of icons that opens up at the top of the document which will let you save. There is an icon for a disk in this toolbar. This is the button that will let you save.
