Single Clicking

To switch your defaults clicking preference

• open My Documents or any other folder

• then go to the Tools menu and select Folder Options

• then make your choice - it's the third item down on that screen. I also choose "only underline items when hovering."

• then click OK

one thing that confuses people using single click is that to select items you only have to hover your mouse over them; if you click on them it opens them. To select multiple contiguous items hover over the first item to select it, then hold down the shift key and hover over the last item. To select multiple non-contiguous items hover your browse over each item with the control key held down.
