Q. How do I turn the laptop's
touchpad on or off?
A. There is an icon in
the system tray that allows you to enable and disable the touchpad, but
you have to have a mouse plugged in if you want to use that icon. The
keyboard keys: Fn + F9 toggle the touchpad on and off for certain
Toshiba laptop models. Another way to turn the touchpad back on if you
don’t have a mouse you can plug in, and Fn+F9 don't work is to use the
keyboard keys to access the Mouse control panel. The key with the
Windows icon on it (near the space bar) opens the Start menu, then you
use the arrow keys to navigate to the Control panel, use the Enter key
to "click" it, use arrow keys or letter M to select the Mouse control
icon, Enter key to click it, then arrow keys to get to Touchpad tab, and
space bar to move between options, Enter key to click it, you can
re-enable the touchpad.
